These themes are the most accurate replicas of the BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Bold default themes!
Available for Pearl, Curve, and 88xx OS 4.5 Only
This is one of the first ever created Storm themes for the Pearl, Curve, 87xx, and 88xx. Expect to see many more like this one in the upcoming days, but expect this one to be the best you can get.
I kept seeing several “Precision 9000″ themes floating around and several themes here and there for the Pearl and Curve “Precision” & “Bold” themes, but I never really saw any really EXACT replicas of the “Bold” theme available for the Pearl, Curve, or 88xx.
The BIG thing that sets these themes apart from the rest is the fact that you can change which icons show up on the bottom of the homescreen!!

Hey, i’m dying to get these themes into my pearl, but my software version is 4.3 and i went to the blackberry page and downloaded the “APLICATTION LOADER” and when i plug my cellphone it says that i have the latest version of software…and i don’t! PLEASE HELP i want so bad the bold theme

These are great themes, but it doesnt work quite properly when i put them on my blackberry 8800
when it is the first applications menu with the 6 icons on the bottom of the screen and i scroll right to left it goes up and down on the screen, when i scroll up and down on the trackball, it highlights up and down
in other words the directions are flipped, but this only happens in the first menu, this even happens when i upload the bold theme for the curve on my 8800, but the rest of the phone applications are callibrated correctly
i tried restarting the phone and reinstalling the theme, but the same thing happens
i dont know what the problem is, i did upgrade to 4.5
The bugs have been corrected.

Downloaded and installed the Bold theme, and it worked flawlessly. However, I wanted to also install the Storm theme. I did that, and now both are gone. I cannot get either back. I have tried installing them via DM and OTA. Neither theme is listed when I go to Options and Themes. Any thoughts?

The Bold pearl theme is great except the fonts on the menu as well as I cant see the entire numbers when I go to send a SMS message. Is there a way to make them smaller so I can see the numbers/. Why does the symbol menu run so slow? It is painful. It takes forever to add a symbols. Is this permanent, or is there a fix? Love the theme otherwise.

Who is your provider?
Verizon
You might try upgrading to 4.5.0.97 which is an official update from Verizon http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/
77 is the latest software available supported by Verizon. In fact, the link you provided is for 77.
I may try a later version from another provider and see if that helps.
Any other ideas? I really like the theme, and would hate to have to stop using it.

is there a way to make the “sym” key faster…it takes a full 3 seconds to change pages when going through the symbols….I’ve noticed this before in other themes I’ve downloaded (not just my BB)

The Pearl Storm theme is amazing. Is there anyway to make the font smaller in the messages / menus? It is over sized even when put to size 7 and you can’t see the time or anything. Bold theme is great also! Thanks!

hey, i just upgraded to 4.5 but the OTA download still won’t work. i keep getting an error that says 907 Invalid COD HTTP Error 504:Gateway Timeout. Any ideas?

BTW, I really dig the theme. I need reading glasses and I looked high and low for a theme that would allow me to read my BB without my glasses. The font used to identify each icon is perfect and the screen is neat and clean. So many themes are way to busy, yours is great.
I’m running the OTA install of the Bold on a Verizon 8330 Curve, OS 4.5.0.77.
How do I control what applications show up in the “switch application” menu? Apps that show up are almost never used (Google Maps) and without opening the Address Book first, I can’t make it show up. Sometimes I want to copy an address from a webpage, but I may not have the address book app running at the time. This requires me to exit what I’m doing, open the address book and then go back to the browser.
Just got my Pearl an installed latest OS 4.5.0.55 and loaded the Bold theme. Now i’ve got the Problem, that i can’t create new Folders. Is this problem known?

One thing however is that I also still have the flipped scrolling issue on the home screen with the “OTA bold for 8800″ that i downloaded and installed just now.
Second thing that would improve the theme even further is font support in the menus. I use the BBAlpha Serif (Plain), but the theme uses BBMillbank in the menus.

But, could you change the menu font please as I think it should be BBAlphaSans size 9?
At the moment it seems to be BBMillbankTall and it doesn’t look right somehow.
Although it does switch to BBAlphaSans Bold size 9 for highlighted text.
Otherwise I think it’s a really perfect theme for the Pearl, many thanks for doing this!
Love the themes. One thing though – no VM indicator!? I saw this “feature” on another theme I had installed that I liked and realized I could not use that theme if I had no way of knowing if I had a VM. I use the indicator as not every person who calls leaves a VM. If you could add that in this would be killer!

You can download the theme via your BlackBerry browser OR you can download the desktop manager edition.
Great Theme!! Looks Awesome on my 8100. Only issue is the Font Size when reading Text Messages or if you create a Memo is Huge – everywhere else it is ok though…any fix for this?

How come when i download the 8800 storm replica it still has up down navigation and left right always takes me up to the top for the profile short cut?
I’ve gotten used to the up down, but being able to do left right would be nice.
I know you’ve already changed home-screen scrolling from up-down to side-side, but is it possible to change it to multidirectional scrolling like on the full icon menu?
Also, I realized when trying to use this theme with a lighter colored background that the top row of icons on the home screen is darker than the bottom, presenting an odd visual with a bright background. Perhaps it would make more sense for these to be flipped, so that the icons fade darker from top to bottom.
I just downloaded the 2 applications, bold and storm for the bb pearl 8120 but I don´t know why don´t appear as theme options. I was reviewing the applications and those appear into the advance options but not in the main menu either. What I did wrong?
Do I need the most current version of DM to use the themes, because when I use version 4.5 it says that there are no applications found for your device? I already updated my blackberry os to 4.5 using the version found at crackberry.
Love the Bold theme for my Pearl – but you have the labels for it and the Storm mixed up on the OTA download links! Bold link downloads the Storm theme and vice versa.

I had the Curve Storm theme installed on my 8320 but recently upgraded to an 8900. The Storm theme for the Curve was my absolute favorite theme. Is there anyway you could make the exact same theme for the 8900? Price not a problem.

Once you have updated as per the guide, you can do a full reboot by removing the battery, then re-download the above themes. Did this on my Pearl, took seconds to update once the software was downloaded, and I didn’t have to do the full reset for this to work.

the theme incorporates a browser link directly to this site. It looks very similar to the actual browser icon. You still have a plain old browser icon as well

First, let me just say that these are FANTASTIC themes! I downloaded both the bold and storm one.
The Bold seems sluggish when compared with the Storm theme. I love them both, but I’d love the Storm one even more if the icons were larger, maybe get rid of the text at the bottom.

the theme shows the menus on millibank instead of alpha sans… i tried every comb of fonts….
I am using the Storm Curve theme you created but I have one request… Is it possible to change it to where the icons for SMS, MMS and Messages are all combined into just one icon labelled Messages? I’m not crazy about having to go to different “folders” to view different types of messages.

I have a 9000, and recently got a 8310 for work purposes. I was devastated when I realized that i wouldn’t have my gloss 9000 theme on the work phone.
I installed your theme, works awesome! Thanx!
Piece of feedback:
1>The icons seem to be presented a bit smaller and further spaced apart than the are on the 9000.
2>When you navigate to the full menu with all the icons (instead of just the row at the bottom) the background picture stays the same, which if the picture is very “busy” it makes the icons looks like a mess of colors. The 9000 changes the background picture to a blue-fading to-black screen keeping it very clean.
But considering everything you have accomplished to give us all a FREE theme, I still think its great!!

Using the dock on the 8800/OS4.5 version: I have to move the trackball left/right to scroll the selection up/down. Similarly, I move the trackball up/down to scroll the selection left/right. Is this a bug?
I concur with Clubconcepts and would like to throw in some thoughts on usability design.
I also tentatively suggest that smaller icons may cause a user to instinctively focus harder, which may increase their rate of fatigue.
The larger tooltips look good. However, they are distraction and could add to user fatigue.
Having said that, I am using your good work on my phone and I think you have done a great job!
I love the storm theme but i do have one hting i wanted to know is there a version with only one layer of apps on ome screen so they are bigger these ones are really small? other than that both themes are great!

Download via OTA … you can copy the link and send it via email to your phone. Once you open the mail click on the link and it will do the rest (you just have to accept) …. cheers.
Hi my friend, I have a problem with my pearl 8100.. I installed the Bold theme in it, but when I receive a pic in the BB messenger I can’t accept it because the phone doesn’t respond.. I think it’s an error, the point is that when I use the Storm theme this doesn’t happen, I receive pictures without problems.. The BB messenger’s version is 5.0.0.57.. I’m from Venezuela, I would like to know how can I fix it..

When i had the pearl 8100 this was all simple and i downloaded the lot and i loveddd it. But i have the 8120 now and i cant seem to get any of the themes back

Found the Curve version navigates fine. The 8800 version has a bug where scrolling is inversed.
Installing the Curve version on a 8800 works perfectly.
Why have two equally compatible distributions, one with bug and one without?
I can’t downgrade to ANY version of 4.5, and love the look of the theme, do tyou know what I should do? I’m on orange UK if that helps.

please. im not sure if you will be able to keep 6 on the bar after the update but even 5 should be fine as long as theyre bigger. you do have a lot of empty space in between too so that should help…

I love this theme to death. The only thing I dont like about it is when you lock your phone, the default picture shows up as opposed to my own picture I set as my background. I’ve been trying to figure out how to change that but I think it’s just the theme itself and there’s nothing I can do.

I love the theme, but when I set my own background and I lock the phone, your original background appears again. Then when I unlock the phone again, it is my background. Please reply, others have the same issue.

Sucks to be me. My bb has a broken usb port so desktop manager won’t work ( I have external battery charger) and wi fi is being gay so bb browser not working
