- SOLUTION to Item 2 – Click towards the top left hand corner of the profile icon. Kind of between the last icon in the bottom row and the profile icon. You’ll get it every time! I hope to have this corrected in the next revision

Storm [v1.2] – KNOWN ISSUES
- Item 1 – currently if you are in an active call and mute that phone call using the “Mute” button on the screen during the call, you cannot click that same mute button to “Unmute”
- SOLUTION to Item 1 – click the Storm’s actual mute button on the phone itself on the top of the phone in the upper right hand corner to unmute your call
- Item 2 – some people are getting a very problematic memory leak
- SOLUTION to Item 2 – currently there is no true solution to the memory leak issue. It doesn’t seem to be affecting everyone the same way. Some are having major problems, but a bigger majority are not having issues. Most of the people who are experiencing major memory issues are running an OS less than 4.7.0.109 or they are running 4.7.0.114 (which I’ve read is sluggish and a buggy OS anyways, I could be wrong on that)

I purchased this theme and love it. It draws some serious memory, im down to 19 running .109 but so far so good. How do I get upgrades when they become available? Are they offered here for paying customers or do you send out emails? Again, great theme, thanks.

I will post them to the store where you bought the theme and I will post updates to the changelog on my site. I am hoping that when I update the files in the store it will send emails out to all of my customers. If you have a question about what version is the latest, check here first. You should be able to use the first download link you received to get future upgrades (which are free).
pretty unhappy so far. lock screen looks like it has both portrait and landscape lockscreens stuck together. cannot make folders it seems. did 2 battery pulls.
Does this work with WeatherBug on the Storm? I imagine there’s no way to make the temperature show (requires text to stay on at all times), but if it’s put on the home screen in those five icons will selecting the icon display the temp properly? Or is there some better way?

Drained memory from 32.4 to 17.9 in less then 30 seconds. Like the theme but dragged my phone down. hope an update comes soon.

I am have storm and the lock screen looks like a curve screen. I downloaded the version for the storm from Crackberry
just did the update to 1.11 for my Bold and now the home screen is locked up,,,,no scroll. I tried two downloads and two restarts and one battery pull. No luck. Hoping for the next update. Thanks

Love the theme so far! However, I cannot figure out for the life of me how to set my Home icons to what I want (at the bottom, the 5 hotkeys)…I don’t need “Help”, “BB Messenger”, “Camera”, “Clock” or “Maps” there and would rather set it to other applications, such as my Slacker Mobile, Poynt, etc. Also, how do I change the top 6, if needed?
Also, I’m running .109, if that matters. I can roll back to .75 if needed, but afraid with the sluggishness of it, it may not be so good with the Theme, lol.

Great theme…. 2 problems i’ve noticed even after 2 battery pulls…. 1. When turning off bluetooth, the radio automatically turns off as well. 2. after deleting sms/mms messages, they still show up in the today section unless you powercycle the phone.

let me start by saying thanks Z. I love this theme for my storm. couple of things i wanted to mention, 1 after installing 1.12 from 1.11 it didn’t seem to fix the lock and unlock screen on my device. i’m running os .114
2 the clock seems to have added a pm/am beside the time and it no longer fits in the clock, not sure if this is just a setting on my end. any ideas?
I just did the update it says to 1.0 but the fixes are there and I have to say it is what I was expecting now. Thank you for the quick attention to correcting this. My only comment now would be to have the battery percent indicator be more in sync with the device info. It seems to lag. Also if there were more destinction between the games, applicatioins, and downloads folders so you don’t have to hover over you would know ahead of time. Thanks again…
I do like the ivista2 theme on my Storm. Initially, I had some problems (the messages icon and a few other icons completely dissappeared after the first reboot). Eventually I had to do a complete reload of the OS (109) and everything returned to normal.
A couple of comments:
1) I got very used to the Profiles/Sounds icon on the home screen of the standard Storm theme, but I don’t see any Sounds icon on this theme. Am I overlooking it? Temporarily I’ve chnaged my left convience key to sounds until I figure out a better alterntive.
2) I read on Crackberry that there are several customizable icons in this theme. I haven’t found any of those yet and no indication of a way customize icons. Although I was able to add my own icon folders just as can be done in the std Storm theme.
3) I don’t understand the benefit of the widget at the bottom of the home screen. The little icons seem to change randomly. Is there way to control it?

First, I would like to say, overall this is a very nice theme and great concept. That being said, i am chiming in with my tweaks/bugs that I have found. I bought this for my Storm so all comments are only related to the 9530.
First, let me start with the incoming call screen. The “ZD Thank you for your support” has got to go. This is a commercial theme and I don’t need the developers brand in my face everytime I get a call. If it was free, fine, I can’t complain but I paid $6 for the theme and it should be commercial free!!
Next, The clocks are a nice visual but the the time does not fit in the space provided. This is a visual annoyance and the font size should be corrected to make it fit. BTW, this is the call on all screens.
Lock screen, it is ugly and nothing seems to line up. It looks like a view that got stuck and there the screen is not refeshing properly. In portrait, it is all scrunched up and the white information like screen is broken up into two pieces and finally the banner information is half covered in places. In landscape, the white information screen fits better and is cleaner and my name is in the right place but the banner information is overlapping with the information screen and is all over the place. (I can provide screenshots if interested).
In the icon list and in portrait, the Bluetooth icon slightly overlaps with the clock as well when a device is connected. This one is not that big of a deal but while I am listing out things, I thought I would include this.
I like a lot of things about this theme and commend the ZMan for the design creativity. Since there seems to be ongoing bug fix and not sure if the ZMan has a Storm I am offering my time to test new versions if desired.

Downloaded V1.12 for my 9530 today from Crackberry. I love the theme, but have 2 issues. First, the lock screens still look messed up in portrait mode. Second, the font in the clock is too big for the icon in all views. Overall, the best theme I have downloaded to date.

I just purchased it and it looks great but it’s terribly slow. I have tons of free mem on my Bold but this theme makes it way too slow…
I’m deleting it right away…

Okay… regarding my item 3), I took me awhile but a finally figured out the icons on the bottom widget. My first six icons appear at the top of the home screen and my next five icons appear in the bottom widget. It’s a neat way to get 11 icons on the home screen without using a lot of real estate. Now that I get it, nice job Zack!
i lost my sms/text icon, is this common or something wrong with me?
I bought this theme yesterday for my Storm 9530 and LOVE IT!
I noticed there seems to be an update that has the Lock Screen bug fixed. The other bug that I really need fixed is:
Cannot make new folders! This is a big deal for me.
If you get this fixed, I’d be thrilled.
Also, how do I download updates? Will they be available on this website? Even though it seems you’ve made an update for the Storm already, it’s not available yet for download, correct?

A is for Alarm
using Bold: I really wanted to like this theme. I dont’ like that several of the icons look the same as others.. the Browser one looks like a compass and there is no way to change it… but most of all, what the hell is up with that Huge realestate hogging Profiles icon on the right and the wraparound selection that always takes you to the profile. I might change profile 1 time a month. Lastly would be suggestion of allowing you set the icons on the right. Also the screen text is only in Black with no control so it forces you to use a Light Background (don’t like the stock one).Oh one last thing, it breaks the Gmail icon. It used to show a Yellow splash when an email comes, now it doesn’t.
It seems that my Storm 9530 is acting slugish with the VISTA2 them. The fonts look different than on the screenshots on this site, Also the SMS folder has gone missing. Are updates available to address this?

the portrait view on the lock screen is still split and laggy do you know when the new updates might be out for the storm
Notice the memory leaks too? 25MB at 0m0s to about 6MB in about 20m sitting in the dock doing nothing.
Having the same problems with the lock screen and the font size on the clock. Awfully laggy on my VZW 9530. Thought it might be the .113/.114 hybrid but my appleberry theme works great with that version. I like the theme just wish I could figure out how to get the update.
1st i purchased this theme on crackberry and no new updates from them but you have it here on this site. 2nd This theme made my phone lag so much that when i recieve a call by the time i am able to answer it they are already going to voicemail and if i am able to barely answer it the screen is all kinds of messed up. Is that being addressed in the update. Nice theme but is NOT fast by any means.
Let me say that this is a great theme.
The only problems I see with it is the time still doesn’t fit in the clock.

This is definitely a great theme. The only issue that I have is still with the clock. The time doesn’t fit in the clock. Also the lock screens. Would it be possible to just do the lock srceen with nothing window based. Just maybe a big clock w/time and the words Screen Locked. Also I don’t know if this is possible but is there a way to link all the wallpapers to match the homesceen wallpaper, even when changed by the user.

It takes a full minute to lock the phone.
It slowed my phone down to the point of not being able to use it.
I had to pull the battery twice.

I too am seeing these issues with V1.12 This is a really good theme with lots of potential. But I do not appreciate paying $6 to be a beta tester. Come on ZMan sort us storm users out!

I just purchased the theme (currently running v1.12) and I’m also have the same two issues.
Since I installed the IVista2.0, my “Options” tab will not work on my Storm 9530. I can’t even get into Options to change themes or anything else

Love the theme only a few things noticed…
1) Transition between portrait and landscape lags
2) Please remove the commercial from the call screen
3) Memory drain is huge which slows down the phone any way to tighten that up?
4) Folder icons, anyway to create new folder icons (the bland red ones just aren’t that fun)
5) Home screen bottom icon row, buttons could be a little larger to take up the allocated bottom bar (big fingers)
6) side widgets – would be nice if in msg notification box you could click on it to bring up the new notification, media center widget, would be nice if you could click play and just play random music from your phone instead of launch the media center.
other than that.. love the theme and hope you continue to work and develop it.
Yes, with 1.12 on the storm the lock screen is still off, and the time doesn’t fit.
Also, what are the chances of you removing the advertisement displayed on the incoming call screen? I already bought your theme, and I love it to death, but the advertisement really shouldn’t be there.

I have installed 1.12 from both the .zip and OTA files. The clock numbers are still too big for the clock face and the lock screens are still messed up. HELP!!!

I know I added a list of things to fix so this is my follow up.
KUDOS TO THE ZMAN!!! I think all of my issues listed were corrected, all within 36 hours of my post so i am sure I wasn’t the only one pointing these out but KUDOS.
This is easily the best theme I have ever owned. I am not having any significant memory leak on 114 and it is nice and crisp and the lag is the same if not better than the delivered Precision Zen theme on the Storm.
My one note to the ZMAN is that in portrait view, when you are on a call or in the “icon list” after pressing the menu button, the GPS indicator seems to be just floating in an odd and misplaced location. In landscape it is off to the far left but then again there is more real estate to put it over there. Maybe in portrait just remove the GPS indicator or find a better place for it if possible. However, for me it is so minor that I can live with it the way it is!!

How does wetherbug in 1.2 get added? Also, the white background is washing out text when attempting to configure weatherbug. Say for example, you goto view the Radar, you only can see 1 line of text and not any of the other ones.
Also, how do you add more icons to the main screen and can we not make the bottom of the screen be a scrolling item with a flick motion like the YouTube application does?

This theme sucked the memory out of my Bold. Before this theme my Bold’s memory would always hover around 45 MB and while on this theme the memory was down in the 20′s. Deleted the theme and re-booted and was up to 50mb. Reloaded the theme and after an hour I was down to 28 MB.
Weatherbug would never update on the main screen and all of the icons were really hard to see.
Concept of this theme is great but the execution is poor. Sorry.

same issue here with the white out on the letters i just changed the background picture for now… and yes scrolling through the bottom icons would be a neat option
Great update, everything is great, except for when i go into the message screen (portrait or landscape), in fact, any message screen, there is a gap after the message bar on top, the Aiming icon is off too,
other then that, time clock is great, screen is great, everything else is perfect.
UPDATE IS GREAT. My only concern is the memory leak. I’ll switch back and forth until I update my storm OS and see if the leak stops. Otherwise great.
I originally purchased the theme (Storm version of course) over a week ago when there were more noticeable issues that prevented me from using it but I have to say that I am very impressed with the constant work that you’ve been putting into it. You’ve fixed most of my big issues and now I can actually use one of the themes that I’ve bothered to pay for (I had also bought Se7en and that was a disaster.)
The only issues that I have still are minor but I figured I’d voice them since you seem to be doing a great job incorporating user feedback:
- I still can’t add my own folders. In certain themes (yours included) when I attempt to add a custom folder I can’t seem to select either OK or Cancel after having named the folder. I can’t select it by pressing it or by hovering over it and then hitting enter. It will show that it’s being pressed but remain on the naming screen and do nothing.
These two are more aesthetic:
- When the device is locked and held in Portrait mode I think it would be best to replace the text that says ‘Press * [SEND] to Unlock’ to something else since that isn’t how the Storm unlocks – just my opinion.
- On the home screen, is there a way to make the gradient on the right more fluid? It’s kind of blocky currently if you know what I mean.

i just installed version 1.3. It seems great so far. I like the hidden selectable items. The sound profile button is too small for me to use (fat fingers) but i have a side key designated for that anyway. Still not sure if it is possible to have the wallpaper chage on each screen (ie. menu and lock screens) when the user changes the homescreen wallpaper. I will update if I still have a problem with memory leakage. ZMan, so far so GREAT.
when i revisit the link to reload version 1.3, the link prompts me that it is still 1.2
is there a new link?

I love your new updates in version 1.3 for Storm. However, it seems that the profile button in the bottom right is hit or miss whether it will respond.
Regarding ‘adding your own folders’, as a work around, I found that I could add my own folders only if i did it while in the landscape mode (I could only click OK while in landscape).
Love the update but the profile button doesnt seem to work. Just an FYI. The other improvements are great, nice job.

Bold Theme v1.12
When is the icons on the home screen going to be fixed? As of right now, the center icon (the one in the big circle) shows up correctly but the two to either side of it have the white square show up uncentered and over the icons (though transparant so you can still see the orginial icon under it). Also, if you go from the home screen to the applications screen and then back to the home screen again, the blue highlight background doesn’t show up until you scroll to another selection. Is there a fix for this as well? Annoying to open one application on the home screen when you thought you left a different highlighted, but couldn’t be sure when there isn’t the highlight background on it.
All in all, I’m very happy with the theme and use it as my daily theme.
The 1.3 update for the Storm improved things tremendously!
Great job – it looks like it even fixed the memory leak issue… sort of. (My memory keeps going down to about 2mb and then pops back up to 8mb then back down… It starts off at 16 / 17 on startup but promptly drops after about a half hour of being locked.)
I love all of the hidden button additions; allowed me to get rid of (or replace) a couple of icons on the main screen which I like because I prefer navigating the device from the ‘home’ menu rather than ‘applications’.

I know the theme doesn’t tie into the memory problems for the most part and unfortunately I’m having more issues than ever (restarts maybe 6 or 7 times a day) but I think it’s because I’m running .114.
I just wanted to thank you Z Man for incorporating my last request of removing the ‘press * send to unlock’ text on the lock screen on the Storm version. I just noticed that last night and was very pleased – you’ll need to adjust the screen shot to reflect this change!
I love this theme and all your upgrades have made it better and better. But I am not a fan of the new Profile location or icon as I can no longer tell what it is currently set at. (Vibrate, Silent, Normal, etc). I personally liked it in its old location at the bottom left corner of the home screen.
Hey Z, love the update theme is great still… I have noticed a few things.. I’m still having a serious memory drain normally I run between 35 / 42 all day with no issue on the standard theme, when running yours I’m consistantly around 12 or lower.. I’m running .109 on a 9530 if that helps at all..
Also the transitions between landscape and portrait are a bit slow and this theme does slow down the camera a bit..
all in all it looks great and I’m hopefull that the kinks get ironed out..

Once again (to reiterate), I’m super happy with the updates but I just thought I should say that I agree with antidentit; I’m not a big fan of the new profile location / icon either and opt for a reinstatement of the old one too – my motivations are that I am currently using the OtterBox (defender series) and for those of you who have it / know if its current limitations – touching things in the extreme corners is damned near impossible.
Not having the number 16 on the calendar icon isn’t an issue for me. Heck, it was only accurate one day a month!
Here’s a work-around for the difficult-to-press Sounds(profile) thingy: Move the actual Sounds icon to the 12th icon position and it will then be the right-most icon on your bottom widget (adjacent to the little little Sounds thingy).

Love the Bold update, EXCEPT the font color. Calendar entries are too hard to read. Just do a simple black font. It’s easier on the eyes.
Just got the new version for the Bold and it is rock solid. The new icons and battery meter are terrific and all functions perfectly with no memory leaks.
Great job and worth the money. This is the most innovative theme out there.

I love everything about this theme except for 2 minor issues. I have the storm 9530, and like many people before me mentioned earlier, the sound profiles button is extremely hard to click in the lower right corner. Also, I know this is true for almost all other themes as well, but it would be amazing if you could make the background picture customizable on the portrait and landscape menu screens, and not just the home screen. That would be the icing on the cake for me. Love the theme though!

Also, I’m not trying to knock the theme at all. It is easily the best theme I’ve used to far. I am a very knit-picky person and there are just a few more cosmetic changes I’d like to see. Once again with the background… I like the sky/meadow background, but I don’t know if it’s just me, but the image resolution doesn’t seem to be up to par with the rest of the theme and the Storm’s capabilities. Also, It’d be nice if the background faded seamlessly with the bottom task bar. And lastly, this is just me, but why are the folders red..? These are all minuscule details that are probably preference more than anything else, but like I said, I’m very knit-picky and other than these few cosmetic preferences, my Storm is immaculate thanks to your theme!

I downloaded 1.3 today for the Storm. I cannot get the Profiles button on the home screen to work, nor the “hidden” connections button.
How do I customize my icons? What does “widgetesque” mean?
How can I set the background wallpaper in landscape to be the same as Profile on the home page? Seems silly to be able to set wallpaper for the home page that changes to the default wallpaper when I move the phone, or press the BB button.
I really like the look of this profile. I hope the “kinks” can be worked out.

I really wish that there was a today section for the Curve version of this theme. That’s what I really liked about it, and I didn’t notice that the curve version didn’t have this until after I downloaded it.
Best theme I have come across for the Bold 9000. Stable and bug-free. No memory issues. Highly recommended.
A suggestion for future releases: Show the carrier on the Home/Today Screen – very useful when roaming.

For example: Smaller Battery icon on the home screen, larger middle icons and the ability to put a picture in the phone lock – owner info area?. I am willing to pay for the changes.
The only real challange is when I cange the background picture, the home screen reverts to the zen theme. feel free to email me or pin me:304A3166.
Is there any explination why when I receive a text message it shows up twice at the top left of the screen in landscape mode, and also twice in the “messages” are in portrait mode? It just seems odd to me that 2 of the exact same icons appear when I get a text message or is it something I have setup weird.
I have the free Storm & Bold replicas for my 8820. I also purchased both the Pro Gloss and iVista 2. I really love your themes… They are the sharpest and most professional-lookimg themes out there and worth every penny.
One observation though, and I hope you’ll not take it against me. I have noticed that for this particular theme (iVista 2), you have released upgrade versions to all BlackBerry devices except those for 83XX, 87XX & 88XX series.
It would be really nice if you will upgrade them also (especially for 8820 since I’m using one) to Today version, like those found in the 8350i, 8900 & 9000 versions (or even just similar to them). Those icons in the sidebar looks really cool!
I know it would probably be too much to ask, but I love this theme so much I really like to see an upgrade for my device (so much that I’m really willing to buy that upgrade version, too!

I would like to start off by saying this is the most beautiful theme EVER!!! The one problem I am having on my 9530 is the memory leaking when using iVista2. I end up loosing around 20+ MB in a little bit more than an hour. Is there anyway to fix this in future upgrades. Also just an idea, a nice icon for facebook would also be nice in future upgrades. Everyone I know that has a Blackberry uses Facebook so it definetly would add to the theme.
This theme looks really great. Zman always makes very nice stuff. I would buy a copy myself (I have bought some of his previous work in the past) but I’ve fallen on some very hard times financially and well, even though the iVista 2 theme is only $3 today, I still can not afford it right now. (I tried to be one on the first 20 people but I was not on time. I have to think of my wife and my children eating first. ButI can attest that zman ALWAYS creates the best software anywhere so buy the iVista 2 and I’m sure you’ll be satisfied.

Please disregard my earlier email to you as I figured out how to go to mobihand, open my account and resend the file via text. However, it sent version 1.3 again. I redownloaded it, and installed it, but then double checked in advanced options and application list, and it is still 1.3.

I love this theme.. however, it still seems to have a problem with draining the battery, and it lags after coming back from the screen blank.

I recently purchased and downloaded the iVISTA theme and subsequently the upgrade but am still having a lot of problems on my STORM.
When the phone starts, I get the message:
UNcaught exception: java.lang.NullPOinterException
I also have no icon for SMS’s, Messages or my separate e-mail folders. When I hold down the menu key to access my messages, I am only able to access my face book messages. Once when I tried to access my e-mail messages through my menu key, it also told me it had an Uncaught Exception.
The message icon on the home page does nothing when I hover over it or click it. It does however indicate that I have unread sms’s and e-mails.
Also, the profile key in the bottom right corner, does not work at all.
Would really like it to work properly cos I think the interface is great.
Any Ideas?

first theme i ever bought for my storm and i love it.
got two questions though:
1. there seems to be a ghosting of the icons when i switch from the menu screen to the today screen.
2. on the today screen i don’t a list of my messages. it’s just blank there.

Z man!!!!! This theme rocks!!!!! I love it! It did run slow for awhile, but I deleted a few themes off my phone I wasn’t using and it took care of the lag, now it runs fine. I have this theme on my Pearl and I wish there was one more icon on the sidebar where the “Profiles” button is. It seems empty up there by itself. Possibly a “Media” icon??? The addition of another icon would really finish the theme for the Pearl. Awesome work and thanks again!!!!

Yes sir! I second fireburn this theme has been a life line on my 8900 but since upgrading to the 9700 with the OS 5.0.XXX is missing icons and sketchy with the calendar and email, etc.
I’m with fireburn here…. I had iVista2 on my 8900 and became addicted to it! I loved all the main screen view. I however have upgraded to the new 9700 and it seems like a few details arent kicking in. like text arent showing in home screen and some icons arent registering…. they show the lil cmd icon.
is there any way to change the background in landscape mode on the storm?
